Section 13 of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act, 2011 made it mandatory for public officers to be trained in the FOIA. The proposed training is aimed at putting participants through and getting them well-informed about the spirit and letters of the FOIA, procedures for ensuring its effective implementation, the role of the judiciary and exemption provisions.
